Our favorite Japanese automaker always has something cooking that we're excited about and, this time, it's some incredible safety tech making use of and augmented reality heads-up display - also called a HUD for short. After we learned about them filing for two patents on safety technology, we knew we had to share the news.
One of the patents is to help with vehicle communication, essentially giving you x-ray vision to see through the vehicle ahead of you to the one ahead of that. The HUD would keep you updated with information about that vehicle, such as monitoring its speed, so you would be prepared for something like a sudden stop with more warning.
The other patent is similar but with pedestrians in mind. The HUD would show you multiple pedestrians around you, including in your blind spot and even people hidden behind objects, so you'll have plenty of warning in case someone steps out in front of your vehicle. You and those around you will be safer than ever.
Keep your eyes glued to our blog in the future and we'll let you know more about this tech as well as other new Honda model news.
